(iii) Venturer Units may meet together as desired for training or other activities<br />

which should be encouraged and co-ordinated by the Zone Leaders<br />

Unit Chair: One of the Venturers will be elected chairperson by the Unit in secret<br />

ballot each year. <strong>The</strong> Venturer Leader will act as scrutineer for the election.<br />

Unit Executive:<br />

<strong>The</strong> Unit Executive is a body composed of the Unit Chairperson, the Unit<br />

Treasurer, the Unit Secretary and such other positions as are deemed<br />

necessary for the efficient running of the Unit. Other Venturers may be coopted<br />

from time to time for specific purposes.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Unit Executive will be elected by secret ballot each year. <strong>The</strong> Venturer<br />

Leader shall act as scrutineer for the election.<br />

(iii) <strong>The</strong> Unit Executive deals with internal matters, including the expenditure of<br />

Unit funds, programme planning and other administrative matters.<br />

Additionally, it ensures that the standard of the proficiency certificates are<br />

met by those Venturers presenting themselves for examination and<br />

recommends the granting of the proficiency certificates and Awards to<br />

Venturers who so qualify. <strong>The</strong> Unit Executive also makes recommendations<br />

to the Venturer Leader on the admission of new members to the Unit. <strong>The</strong><br />

Executive is also responsible for arranging for the election of one member<br />

of the Unit to represent them on the Zone or Regional Venturer Council.<br />

(d) Training: <strong>The</strong> Venturer Leader is responsible for training the Unit Executive,<br />

which in turn assists the Leader in training Venturers<br />

Uniform: Venturers, and Venturer leaders, wear the appropriate uniform as set<br />

out in Management Procedures.<br />

121. COMBINED VENTURER UNITS<br />

A Combined Venturer Unit may be formed in order to bring together in one Unit<br />

small numbers of Venturers from more than one Group where either there are<br />

insufficient numbers to form Units at Group level or because a Combined Unit is<br />

preferable to the formation of a Group Unit containing members from other<br />

Groups.<br />

More than one Combined Venturer Unit may be formed and the existence of a<br />

Combined Unit shall not exclude the formation of Group Units in the Zone.<br />

Where a Combined Venturer Unit or Units have been formed, the Zone Leader<br />

shall be responsible for carrying out those duties which the rules of the<br />

Association require to be carried out by the Group Leader or Group Committee in<br />

respect of Group Units.<br />

Combined Venturer Units must be registered at National Office) and are<br />

recognised as part of the Movement only whilst so registered.<br />

<strong>The</strong> procedure to be followed in registering a Combined Venturer Unit shall be<br />

similar to that set out in <strong>Rule</strong> 92 except that the provisions of paragraph (b),<br />

sub-paragraphs (i), (ii) and (vi) do not apply.<br />
