(iv) To provide and safeguard adequate equipment and property for training,<br />

ordinary Group activities and camping.<br />

To recommend any member of the Group for service awards.<br />

(vi) To hold regular meetings in addition to the Annual Meeting.<br />

(h) <strong>The</strong> Group Committee is not directly concerned with the actual training of<br />

<strong>Scouts</strong>.<br />

Annual Meetings:<br />

<strong>The</strong> Group Committee shall in each year within three months of balance<br />

date (30 September) hold an annual general meeting to which the Zone<br />

Leader, Adult Leaders of the Group and parents of <strong>Scouts</strong> who are<br />

members of the Group must be invited and at least 14 days notice in<br />

writing of such meeting shall be given to such persons.<br />

<strong>The</strong> members of the Group Committee, including the ex-officio members<br />

thereof and the parents or caregivers of <strong>Scouts</strong> who are members of the<br />

Group who shall be present at the annual general meeting shall, where a<br />

vote is required on any matter, each have one vote.<br />

(iii) At each annual general meeting the annual report, statement of receipts<br />

and payments and balance sheet or statement of assets and liabilities (if<br />

any) duly reviewed and the budget for the coming year shall be presented,<br />

a committee and auditor or reviewer for the ensuing year shall be elected<br />

and such other business as shall be specified in the notice calling the<br />

meeting shall be dealt with.<br />

In the event of a dispute between members of a Committee or between the<br />

Committee and a Scout or Adult Leader that cannot be resolved by the<br />

Group Leader the matter shall be referred to the Zone Leader, whose<br />

decision will be final.<br />

In the case of Affiliated Groups, the patron body shall first be consulted<br />

before the decision is given.<br />

(iii) <strong>The</strong> Zone Leader may disband a Group Committee if he or she considers<br />

such action necessary, in the best interests of the Movement. In the case<br />

of Affiliated Groups, the Patron Body shall first be consulted.<br />

(iv) <strong>The</strong> Zone Leader may then arrange for a new Committee to be appointed,<br />

or may arrange for the Group to function without a Committee, but under<br />

the personal supervision of the Zone Leader, or person nominated by the<br />

Zone Leader, and the patron body, if any, for a period not exceeding one<br />

year.<br />

In the case of a Affiliated or Sponsored Group it is necessary to determine in the<br />

first place what part of the property, if any, belongs to the Group itself and not<br />

to the patron body or sponsor and this decision should be recorded in a letter of<br />

agreement between the Group Committee and the patron body or sponsor.<br />

A schedule of Group property must be submitted each year to the Zone Leader.<br />
