PART F<br />

SCOUT ZONES<br />

70. GENERAL<br />

<strong>The</strong> composition of a Scout Zone is determined by the National Executive<br />

Committee on the recommendation of the Chief Executive after consultation<br />

with the Regional Development Manager and the Zone Leaders concerned.<br />

71. ZONE PATRON<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zone Leader may, after consultation with the Zone Management Team, and<br />

with the approval of the Regional Development Manager, appoint a Zone Patron.<br />

<strong>The</strong> appointment will be for an initial period of three years and may be renewed<br />

in the same manner as the initial appointment.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zone Patron may after investiture, wear uniform if they wish but no warrant<br />

is issued.<br />

72. ZONE LIFE MEMBER<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zone Leader may, after consultation with the Zone Management Team appoint<br />

any person who has given long and outstanding service to Scouting as a Life member<br />

of the Zone. Zone Life Members will have such duties, rights and privileges as are<br />

granted to them by the Zone Leader at the time of their appointment.<br />

73. ZONE LEADER<br />

(a) <strong>The</strong> Zone Leader is appointed by the Chief Executive on the<br />

recommendation of the Regional Development Manager and is<br />

responsible to the Regional Development Manager for the<br />

administration, general welfare and development of the Movement in<br />

the Zone and the progressive training of its members. A warrant is issued<br />

in accordance with Part C.<br />

(b) <strong>The</strong> Zone Leader will be the Leader and general manager in the Zone and<br />

manage Scouting in accordance with National policy and procedures.<br />

(c)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zone Leader is accountable to the Regional Development Manager in<br />

accordance with the Zone Leader position description set out in Management<br />

Procedures.<br />

74. ASSISTANT ZONE LEADERS<br />

Assistant Zone Leaders are appointed by the Regional Development Manager, after<br />

consultation with the Zone Leader with warrants in accordance with Part C.<br />

75. ZONE TRAINING LEADER<br />

(a)<br />

Zone Training Leaders are appointed by the Zone Leader subject to the approval<br />

of the Regional Development Manager with warrants in accordance with Part C.<br />

(b) Before making a recommendation for such an appointment the Zone Leader<br />

must consult the Zone Section Leaders.<br />
