Introd. <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, who married aud had issue two daughters. The male l<strong>in</strong>e <strong>of</strong> John<br />

<strong>of</strong> Spr<strong>in</strong>g Garden has thus been <strong>ca</strong>rried on bv <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong> his second<br />

SOD, John <strong>Wedderburn</strong> <strong>of</strong> Auchterhouse, co. Forfar, <strong>the</strong> J.W. so <strong>of</strong>ten natned<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>se volumes. He, like his bro<strong>the</strong>r, be<strong>ca</strong>me a partner <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Wedderburn</strong><br />

firm, but left it after a few years. He resided at one time at<br />

Bedd<strong>in</strong>gton Park, co. Surrey, but on <strong>the</strong> failure <strong>of</strong> West In.liau atfuirs retired<br />

<strong>in</strong> 1820 to Auchterhouse, where he partly occupied himself <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

MS. edition <strong>of</strong> his pr<strong>in</strong>ted memoir <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> famdy. He died <strong>in</strong> IS.'W. He<br />

had married <strong>in</strong> I82:i Lady Helen Ugilvy. youngest daughter <strong>of</strong> Walter, fifth<br />

Earl <strong>of</strong> Airlie, and by her (born 17'J«, died 18U.S) had issue three sons and a<br />
