young. "1687 July 11, AVilliam <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, a young lad at <strong>the</strong> Grammar<br />
School, son to Mr. .lames <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, sumtyme m<strong>in</strong>ister at Munsie, who died<br />
by drown<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> 9th <strong>in</strong>stant, wes buried " (ib.).<br />
4. David <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, born before 28 Oct. 1G83 (R.H. 248). Ho was liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
1699, at which date he was <strong>the</strong> only surviv<strong>in</strong>g child <strong>of</strong> his parents. Thus,<br />
27 Jan. 1699, David <strong>Wedderburn</strong>. eldest son on life' <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Jfr. James<br />
<strong>Wedderburn</strong>, m<strong>in</strong>ister at Moonzie, b<strong>in</strong>ds himself to his uncle Alexander Inglis,<br />
his mo<strong>the</strong>r Jean Inglis, and to Robert Riillie <strong>of</strong> Balmedieside, not to become<br />
<strong>ca</strong>utioner for anybody (R.D. 240), and 24 Ju'y, 6 Nov. he granted to his mo<strong>the</strong>r a<br />
discharge <strong>in</strong> respect <strong>of</strong> his claims on his fa<strong>the</strong>r's estate, <strong>in</strong> which narration is<br />
made <strong>of</strong> his fa<strong>the</strong>r's will (28 Oct. 168.3), by which his mo<strong>the</strong>r was to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><br />
"her three surviv<strong>in</strong>g children,- <strong>of</strong> whom David now alone survives, <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
two, William and Mary, be<strong>in</strong>g dead" (RD. 248). This discharge is dated at<br />
Ed<strong>in</strong>burgh and Lithrie, and is <strong>the</strong> latest mention, known to me, <strong>of</strong> David<br />
<strong>Wedderburn</strong>, who was <strong>the</strong>n probably just <strong>of</strong> age.<br />

Alexander <strong>Wedderburn</strong>^ [1621 ?— 1678]. eldest son <strong>of</strong> James <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, elder,<br />
<strong>of</strong> Moonzie, was a m<strong>in</strong>ister <strong>of</strong> some note, first at Forgan, co. Fife, and <strong>the</strong>n at Kilmarnock,<br />
ccAyr.** He was born about 1621-2t, and matriculated at S. Andrew's <strong>in</strong> 1639. graduat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

terms <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> discharge are thus nut accurate, a.s it recites that Jean luglis " ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed all three<br />
children at bed. board, and school dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir life time and was at <strong>the</strong> expense <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> funerals" <strong>of</strong><br />
