on 15 April 1605, at <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>quest for serviuu; her heir to her <strong>in</strong>icle Walter (D.B.R.<br />

35i ii), he is not mentioned. He is first named with her, ns her spouse, 6 Dec.<br />

1605, <strong>in</strong> a decree which <strong>the</strong>y obta<strong>in</strong>ed v. Agnes <strong>Wedderburn</strong> (wife <strong>of</strong> (Jilbcrt Ua<strong>in</strong>say,<br />

ante p. 27) for <strong>the</strong> delivery up <strong>of</strong> certa<strong>in</strong> " pieces <strong>of</strong> heirsiiii)," <strong>in</strong>herited <strong>of</strong> r.es.-iio<br />

from hernncle Walter, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g " ane hagbit, ane pair <strong>of</strong> swonl uairdis, ane frenche<br />

brydill," ic. (I>.U.K. 355). Some few years later she and her liusband went to<br />

Denmark and resided <strong>in</strong> Els<strong>in</strong>ore. Perhaps it was <strong>in</strong> view <strong>of</strong> this change <strong>of</strong><br />

residence that, 6 Nov. 1610, <strong>the</strong>y resigned <strong>the</strong>ir property iiearS. Clement's to .\ndrcw<br />

Kynnaird (DP. I!. 415), a transaction confirmed later, 27 Oct. 1615, by a procunitor<br />

ou <strong>the</strong>ir behalf (//'. 387). They were <strong>in</strong> Dundee 27 June, 8July 1615, but were <strong>the</strong>n<br />

about to sail for Denmark, as David Wedderbum notes <strong>in</strong> his "Co<strong>in</strong>|it lluik " <strong>the</strong><br />

loan to Bessie <strong>of</strong> "ane treu flacon <strong>of</strong> a quarter to go with her to Denmark," as well<br />

as his delivery to her <strong>of</strong> a procuratory and o<strong>the</strong>r documents on <strong>the</strong> latter date<br />

(D.W. 9/). On 8 Nov. 1616 she was aga<strong>in</strong> returned heir to her uncle Walter, her<br />

hu.sband be<strong>in</strong>g described as " burecss <strong>of</strong> Dundee, now iudweller <strong>in</strong> .\lsownuir"<br />

(D.B.R. 397). This retour was repeated at Ed<strong>in</strong>bur
