Margaret <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, iiis wife's duu'zliters {ih. .'50 1. There is a decree <strong>in</strong> her favour<br />

and <strong>in</strong> that <strong>of</strong> her sister Margaret .'J Feb. 1552 {il>. :V.\). Her husb.uid died before<br />

28 April, 31 Oct. 15G+, when <strong>the</strong>re are resignations <strong>of</strong> North Muiraygiit and Nortii<br />

Cowgait lands by "Thomas Nicholl, son and hsir <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late 'I'lionias Xiciioll and<br />

Janet <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, his rehct " (h.l'.H. 116. 118). She was liv<strong>in</strong>g 17 .March 1570<br />

{ib. 147), but died before ItS .July 15^7 when her son is entered <strong>in</strong> an annual rent iw<br />

her heir ('/'. 257). She is once more named 31 Oct. 15;^S, when <strong>the</strong> bailie g!o«)i, skipper. See above s. <strong>the</strong> account<br />

<strong>of</strong> her sister. She was unmarried 22 Feb. 1552 (I'.li.R. 33), but married some<br />

years before 26 March 1561, as she is <strong>the</strong>n named with her husband and i.s<br />

designed "daughter and one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> heirs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Henry <strong>Wedderburn</strong>"<br />

(D.P.B. Ill), while on 6 Oct. 1.t62 she is mentioned as deceased, her three daughters,<br />

Isobell, Elizabeth, and Lucy Davidsoun be<strong>in</strong>g cognosced her heirs (D.B K. 117).<br />

Gilbert <strong>Wedderburn</strong>^ [1510?— 1559] son <strong>of</strong> James <strong>Wedderburn</strong> and Janet Harry,<br />

was admitted a burgess <strong>of</strong> Dundee as " <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> James <strong>Wedderburn</strong> " <strong>in</strong> 1537 (1).L. 1!. U).<br />

He, like his elder bro<strong>the</strong>rs, seems to have been <strong>of</strong> a reform<strong>in</strong>g spirit, as 12 July I53.S he is<br />

named, among o<strong>the</strong>rs, as lately accused <strong>of</strong> heresy (R.A.I '. 7) and his lands anKi,.-«t n( llii- k—.U<br />
