He had married, <strong>in</strong> 1703, Grissell Gardyne, yuun-est dautrhtcr <strong>of</strong> Uobcrt Ganlync,<br />

younger <strong>of</strong> Latoun. The marriage contract is datedat Midletou <strong>of</strong> Ganlyne 31 Dee. 1^02*<br />

and is witnessed by her fa<strong>the</strong>r and by his uncle Peter (S.W. 528). The bride's tocher Is<br />

seven thousand merks, while <strong>the</strong> husband settles an annuity <strong>of</strong> one tli(iusan<strong>in</strong>e on<br />

this contract was registered 3 Xov. 1703 (F.S. 7G). I!y Grissell (iardvue,-' who surviyod<br />

him, and was left by him one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> tutors to <strong>the</strong>ir children "duriiit; uidijuity " (.S.W. 511),<br />

A''iscount <strong>of</strong> Dundee,^ <strong>Wedderburn</strong> had issue five sons and two daughters :<br />
