cells that cover your study area and place it inside your ArcHydro geodatabase at“C:\Map2Map\RosilloFull.mdb\Hydrography\HydroResponseUnit.”7 Update the PixelID file listBased on the NEXRAD cells that overlay your study area you need to update thepixelID (six digit number) file list (PixelIDs.txt) located atC:\Map2Map\RawNEXRAD_Data. Make sure the PixelIDs for your study areaactually have rainfall data for them (not dry cells) in the hourly files located at“C:\Map2Map\RawNEXRAD_Data\NEXRAD_data” location.8 Generate Intersection between HRAP and Watershed PolygonsFor the “Time Series Transfer” script tool to work, a polygon layer that containsthe intersection of the NEXRAD cells and the Watersheds of the study area isneeded. Standard GIS functionality can be used to generate this layer (AnalysisTools > Overlay > Intersect hammer) which is called “IntRadWsh” in the pilot.Once it is generated place it in the Arc Hydro geodatabase at:“C:\Map2Map\RosilloFull.mdb\Hydrography.” Now you need to add four fieldsto your IntRadWsh layer: KEYFROM, KEYTO, PCTFROM, and PCTTO thefirst two as long integers and the last two as double type.9 Add HEC-HMS Model Setup for the Study AreaAdd the HEC-HMS project setup of your study area to the default directorylocation containing all the hydrologic HMS projects (C:\hmsproj). Your projectwill be placed at “C:\hmsproj\MyHMSProject.” Make sure the project is runningproperly when executed from the HMS user interface in stand-alone mode.10 Add HEC-RAS Model Setup for the Study AreaAdd the HEC-RAS project setup of your study area to the default directorylocation containing all the hydraulic RAS projects (C:\rasproj). Your project willbe placed at “C:\rasproj\MyRASProject”. Make sure the project is runningproperly when executed from the RAS user interface in stand-alone mode.11 Add the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the Floodplain AreaThe continuous surface representing the terrain elevations of your floodplain areais a vital piece of input for the final floodplain delineation phase. In order toobtain reasonable results, the resolution of the terrain raster must be high enoughto appropriately define places underwater. Regularly, the DEM must have a211
