HEC-HMS, creating the corresponding flow file in which the exchange crosssections are now referenced to the transferred DSS records and its peak flowvalue (for steady state setups), creating a new plan file for HEC-RAS thatincludes a pointer to the new flow file, and updating the project file with pointersto the new flow and plan files if not existing.By having model-centric elements inside the geodatabase it is possible tocreate model specific files with their content. After the geographic associationbetween model elements is done, the DSS time series records from HEC-HMSmust be used to create a flow file for the HEC-RAS setup. The DSSTSType tablewith the DSS descriptors for the transferred streamflow data and the CrossSection feature class with the correct HEC-RAS model code are used as primarysources for the new Flow file. The Figure 3.22 shows the details of theinformation being read and transferred from the geodatabase to the HEC-RASflow file.62
