Part E: Time Interval of stored data. It is a combination of an integernumber with an alphanumeric time interval. Valid data intervals are: 1MIN,2MIN, 3MIN, 4MIN, 5MIN, 10MIN, 15MIN, 20MIN, 30MIN, 1HOUR, 2HOUR,3HOUR, 4HOUR, 6HOUR, 8HOUR, 12HOUR, 1DAY, 1WEEK, 1MON, and1YEAR. This time interval indirectly defines the DSS block length and in turn theformat of the valid Part D as described next.Part D: Block start date or starting date of the data block. It must be a 9-character military style date for the start of the standard data block (notnecessarily the start of the first piece of data). Regardless of when the first validdata occurred, the block starting date is a constant standard value that depends onthe block’s length. This part is not optional. The length of the block determinesthe format of the starting date as shown below:If the block length is a century the starting date must be the beginning ofthat century: 01JAN1900 for a block length covering the 20 th century (regardlessof when the first valid data occurred). Used for yearly data intervals.If the block length is a decade, the starting date must be the beginning ofthat decade: 01JAN1960 for a block length covering the 1960’s. Used for weeklyand monthly data intervals.If the block length is a year, the starting date must be the beginning of thatyear: 01JAN1982 for a block length covering the 1982 year.
