And for other Services therein mentioned”;and the Same was received and read the first time.Resolved that the Bill be read a Second Time.And then the House adjourned ’till to Morrow Morning Nine of theClock.Friday the 21st of April 1758.The Journal of Yesterday’s Proceedings was read.An Account of William Pinckney Esqr., Commissary, for Wood for theForces amounting to £405, And,An Account of Samuel Prioleau for Rent of a House for the Forcesamounting to £111:18:9, were Severally read.Ordered that the said Accounts be referred to the Consideration of theCommittee appointed to audit the Accounts of the Creditors of the Public.And that they do Examine the Same and report their Opinion thereuponto the House.Mr. Guerard reported from the Committee appointed to Audit thePublic Treasurers Accounts, that the Committee had, pursuant to the Orderof the House, Examined the said Accounts & had Likewise in Conjunctionwith Several Members of the Council appointed for that purpose seenSeverall Paper Bills of Credit, Public Orders and Tax Certificates destroyed,which Matters the Committee had directed him to report to the House, &he read the Report in his Place, and afterwards delivered it in at the ClerksTable, Where the same was read & is as follows, Viz.The Committee have Examined the Public Treasurers Books & find thatthe Amount of the Duties arising on Deer Skins Exported from the 29th September1756 to the 29th September 1757 is £2793:6:6 which amount is transferredto the General duty Fund.That the Amount of Duties arising on Sole Leather Exported from the29th September 1756 to the 29th September 1757 is £402:2:9. Which is alsotransferred to the General duty Fund.That the Income of the General Duty Fund from 29th September 1756to the 29th September 1757 including the two Sums abovemention’d is£24,727:4:6. Which Fund Stands Charged with the following Sums to theabove Time, Viz.For Debentures £ 2983:14:01Salaries of the Clergy 12667:17:06Fortifications 5000:00:00St. Michael’s Church 200:00:00
