MARCH 22, 1759357Mr. Lamboll presented to the House (according to Order) “a Bill forraising and granting to His Majesty the Sum of . . . to defray the Charges ofthis Government from the 25th Day of March 1758 to the 31st Day of December1758 Inclusive, and for other Services therein mentioned.” And the samewas received and read the first time.Resolved that the Bill be read a Second time.And then the House adjourned till this Afternoon three of the Clock.P.M.Mr. Manigault reported from the Committee who were appointed toprepare a Schedule to be annexed to the Tax Bill, that the Committee hadprepared a Schedule accordingly, which they directed him to report to theHouse, and he read the Report in his place, and afterward delivered it in atthe Clerk’s Table, where the same was read.Resolved that this House will to Morrow Morning Nine of the Clock takethe said Report into Consideration.Then the House proceeded to take the Report from the Committee towhom the Public Treasurer’s Accounts were referred, into Consideration.And the Report being Read a Second time,Resolved that the Sum of £4349:3:1, being the Ballance of the GeneralDuty Fund in the Treasury the 29th of September last, be applyed in Aid ofthe Tax to be raised for the Year ending the 31st Day of December 1758 Inclusive.Resolved that the Sum of £3315:16:2 arising by the Income on Licencesfor selling and retailing strong Liquors for the Year 1758, and the Ballanceof Taxes on transient Persons, be applyed in Aid of the Tax to be raised forthe Year Ending the 31st Day of December 1758 Inclusive.Resolved that the Sum of £1235:9:2, the Amount of the Income of theTax on Goods sold at Public Vendue, be applyed in Aid of the Tax to be raisedfor the Year Ending the 31st Day of December 1758 Inclusive.Resolved that the Sum of £8740:10:5 being the Surpluss in the Treasurer’shands raised by Virtue of the Tax Law passed the 6th Day of July 1756, beapplyed in Aid of the Tax to be raised for the Year Ending the 31st Day ofDecember 1758 Inclusive.Resolved that the Sum of £30 be Inserted in the Schedule to the TaxBill to make Good the Deficiency of the old Appropriation Orders issued in1731.Resolved that the Sum of £468:13:6 arising by Fines and Forfeitures beapplyed in Aid of the Tax to be raised for the Year Ending the 31st Day ofDecember 1758 Inclusive.
