620 COMMONS JOURNAL, FEBRUARY 4, 1760–AUGUST 6, 1760Resolved, That the Sum of £1748:13:5, Balance in the Fund appropriatedfor finishing St. Michael’s Church be applied in Aid of the said Tax.Resolved That the Sum of £904:12:9 in the Treasury arising by the Taximposed on Goods sold at Public Auction be applied in aid of the said Tax.Resolved That the Sum of £805:15 being Fines and Forfeitures be appliedin Aid of the said Tax.Resolved, That the Sum of £1229:6:5 in the Treasury being Balance inthe Fund appropriated for raising the South-Carolina Regiment be appliedin aid of the said Tax.Resolved, That this House will provide the Sum of £865:12:8 due to theTreasurer from the Fund provided for finishing the Fort in the Upper CherokeeNation.Resolved, That the Sum of £9283:1:1 being Surplus of the Taxes raisedfor defraying the Charges of this Government for the Year ending the 25thMarch 1757 be applied in Aid of the Tax to be raised for defraying the Chargesof the last Year.Ordered, That it be an Instruction to the said Committee, that they doexamine what Sums of Money have been paid into the Treasury by the severalCollectors of the Tax for the Year ending the 25th Day of March 1758 andreport the Same, as it appears to them, to the House.Resolved That this House will provide the Sum of £5 due to the Treasurerfor an Appropriation Order issued in 1731, which was cancell’d by the Committee.Resolved That the Sum of £549:18, being so much paid to the Treasurerby the Agent to the Contractors for victualling The King’s Forces in NorthAmerica, for Provisions belonging to the Public that were remaining at Fort-Loudoun when the said Agent undertook to supply the Garrison at that Fort:And the Sum of £513:16:10 which had been paid out of the Treasury for theCarriage of Provisions to Kewohee for the use of such of the Cherokee Indiansas went to the Assistance of the Northern Colonies with Colonel Bird& which was repaid to the Treasurer by the said Agent, be applied in aid ofthe said Tax.Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill for establishing and regulatingthe Artillery Company which was formed out of the Militia in Charles-Town: And that Captain Gadsden, Mr. Rattray and Mr. Laurens, do prepareand bring in the same.Ordered, That the Committee who were appointed to examine theAccounts of the Gentlemen who imported two thousand Musquets, fixedwith Bayonets and Slings, and Moulds for the said Musquets, at the PublicExpence, to be disposed of for the better arming the Militia of this Province,be revived: And that the said Committee do, as soon as may be, report theState of the said Accounts to the House.
