P.M.Mr. Speaker adjourned the Meeting of the House ’till to Morrow MorningTen of the Clock.Tuesday the 24th Day of October 1758.Mr. Speaker adjourned the Meeting of the House ’till to Morrow MorningTen of the Clock.Wednesday the 25th Day of October 1758.Mr. Speaker adjourned the Meeting of the House ’till to Morrow MorningTen of the Clock.Thursday the 26th Day of October 1758.Mr. Speaker informed the House that Childermas Croft Esquire, Clerkof this House, having obtained His Majesty’s Leave of Absence for the Recoveryof his Health; had, with the Approbation of His Excellency the Governor,appointed Mr. John Bassnett to act as Clerk of the House during hisAbsence; which Appointment and Leave of Absence were severally read byMr. Speaker to the House; and,Mr. Bassnett attending at the Door, was called in, and the following Oathwas administred to him by Mr. Speaker, One of His Majesty’s Justices of thePeace.“You shall well and faithfully execute the Trust and Office of Clerk tothis House according to the best of your Skill and Knowledge, and that youwill keep all such matters secret as shall be enjoined you by the House.
