MAY 16, 1760565allowance from the Public, The Petitioners from the pressing necessity of thecase and from the knowledge of the good intentions of this HonorableHouse were induced to procure for them on their own Credit the severalArticles of Provisions, Linnen and Medicine contained in the annexed Account,not doubting but that Your Honours wou’d in due time provide forthe Same.And praying the House to take the Premises into Consideration and dotherein as their Wisdom and Humanity shall direct.Read also the Account annexed to the Petition, amounting to £2613:17:4.Ordered, That the said Petition and Account be referred to the Considerationof the Committee who were appointed to audit the Public Accounts;and that they do examine the Matter of the said Petition and reportthe same with their Opinion thereupon to the House.The Bill intitled, “an Act to enforce a due subordination and observanceof Military Discipline among the Forces employed in the Service of this Province,”and,“The Ordinance to appoint James Reid Esqr. Powder-receiver of thisProvince” being severally ingrossed, were, with the Originals laid upon theTable.Ordered That Mr. Pringle and Mr. Moore do examine the said ingrossedBill and Ordinance, with such Members of the Council as shall be appointedfor that Purpose: And that they do afterward wait upon The LieutenantGovernor and desire that His Honour will please to order the Great-Seal tobe affixed to the said ingrossed Bill and Ordinance; and humbly know HisHonour’s Pleasure, when he will be attended by the House to present thesaid ingrossed Bill & Ordinance.Then the House proceeded to take the Second Report from the Committeewho were appointed to audit the Public Accounts into Consideration.And the 1st Paragraph of the said Report (No. 177) on an Account ofJohn Hamilton;The 2d (No. 178) on a second Account of John Hamilton;The 3d (No. 179) on an Account of Thomas Yeomans;The 4th (No. 180) on an Account of William Osborn;The 5th (No. 181) on an Account of Elizabeth Snipes;The 6th (No. 182) on an Account of James Beamer;The 7th (No. 183) on an Account of Cornelius Cokely;The 8th (No. 184) on a second Account of James Beamer; and,The 9th (No. 185) on an Account of Lachlan McIntosh, being severallyread a Second time were severally agreed to by the House.The 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th Paragraphsbeing severally read a Second time,
