16 COMMONS JOURNAL, OCTOBER 6, 1757‒OCTOBER 22, 1757Ordered that the said Address be presented to his Excellency by Mr.Drayton & Mr. Roper.The House being informed that Daniel Blake Esqr., returnd for St.Bartholomew, & Mr. Samuel Wainwright, returnd for St. Paul, attended atthe Door, they were severally called in, and being askd by Mr. Speaker if theywere Willing to qualify themselves as Members of this House, they answer’din the affirmative.Ordered That Mr. Murray & Mr. Glover do attend the Governor withMr. Blake & Mr. Wainwright & humbly desire that they may be permitted totake the Oaths before his Excellency & make & Subscribe the declaration &take & Subscribe the oath of abjuration pursuant to the Laws made for thosepurposes.The said Gentlemen accordingly withdrew & being returnd,Mr. Murray reported to the House that Mr. Blake & Mr. Wainwright hadtaken the Oaths before his Excellency.Order’d that Peter Manigault Esqr., a Member of this House and Oneof his Majestys Justices of the Peace, do administer the Oath appointed bythe Election Law to be taken by all Persons who Shall serve as Members ofthe General Assembly of this Province to Mr. Blake & Mr. Wainwright.And Mr. Manigault administred the said Oath Accordingly.And then the said Gentlemen severally took their Seats as Members ofthe House.And Then the House adjourn’d till to-morrow afternoon Four of theClock.Saturday the 15th day of October 1757. P.M.Mr. Speaker adjournd the House till monday morning 9 of the Clock.Monday the 17th day of October 1757.Mr. Speaker adjourn’d the House till to morrow Morning, Ten of theClock.Tuesday the 18th day of October 1757.The Journal of Last Fridays Proceedings was read.Mr. Leigh reported from the Committee of Priviledges & Elections towhom the Petition of David Greame of Charles Town Esqr. complaining ofan undue Election & return for the Parish of Christ Church. That they hadExamined the matter of the said Petition and had directed him to report the
