26 COMMONS JOURNAL, NOVEMBER 14, 1757–DECEMBER 9, 1757Session Beginning November 14, 1757and Ending December 9, 1757Monday the 14th day of November 1757.Mr. Speaker adjourn’d the House till to morrow morning ten of the Clock.Tuesday the 15th day of November 1757.The following Gentlemen met, viz., Mr. Lamboll, Mr. Stobo, Mr.Middleton, Mr. Pringle, Mr. Lowndes, Mr. Wainwright, Mr. Murray &Mr. Waties; and the said Gentlemen made Choice of Mr. Waties to be theirChairman & he adjourned the House till to morrow Morning Ten of theClock.Wednesday the 16th of November 1757.The Journal of the Proceedings of Saturday the 22d of October Last wasread.The House being informd that Stephen Bull Esqr., who was returndduly Elected to serve as a Member of this present General Assembly for theParish of Prince William, attended at the door, he was called in & Mr. Speakerasked him if he was willing to Qualify himself as a member of this House, towhich he answer’d in the affirmative.Ordered That Mr. Middleton & Mr. Drayton do wait upon The Governorwith Mr. Bull & humbly desire that his Excellency will please to permithim to take the Oaths & make & Subscribe the Declaration & take & Subscribethe Oath of Abjuration pursuant to the Laws made for those purposes.The following Writs of Election were returnd.A Writ for Electing of a Member to serve for the Parish of Christ Churchand the Return of the said Writ being read, it appear’d That David GraemeEsqr. was duly Elected to serve for the said Parish.A Writ for Electing of a Member to serve for the Parish of St. JohnColleton County & the Return on the said Writ being read, it appear’d ThatLuke Stoutenburgh was duly elected to serve for the said Parish.A Writ for the Electing of a Member to serve for the Parish of St.Stephen. And the Return of the Said Writ being read, it appear’d thatCharles Cantey Esqr. was duly Elected to serve for the said Parish.
