MARCH 22, 1759355desire that You will resolve on a Sum to be provided for the payment of anInterpreter at that Fort for the time to come.William Henry Lyttelton.Resolved that this House will this Afternoon take the said Message intoConsideration.Resolved that this House will this Afternoon take the Report of the Committeeto whom the Memorial of James Crokatt Esqr. was referred into Consideration.Ordered that such Members who do not attend the Service of thisHouse at three of the Clock this Afternoon, or should at any time thereafterdepart the Same during the Sitting of the House without Leave, do paythe Sum of five Pounds Currency into the hands of the Cashier.And then the House adjourned ’till this Afternoon three of the Clock.P.M.The Order of the Day to take the Report of the Committee to whomthe Memorial of James Crokatt Esqr. was referred, into Consideration, beingread,The said Memorial, The Account of James Crokatt Esquire, And theReport of the Committee thereupon, were severally read a Second Time;Then the Resolution of this House of the 31st of January 1754 Relatingto Mr. Crokatt,Mr. Crokatt’s Letter of the 11th of April 1754 to the then Speaker,Mr. Crokatt’s Account dated the 30th of September 1756 amounting to£16 Sterling,And the Resolution of this House of the 30th of April 1755, relating toMr. Crokatt were severally read.Then the Question being put that the House do agree with the Reportof the Committee,It passed in the Negative.Resolved that the Governor’s Message of this Morning be taken intoConsideration to Morrow Morning.Resolved (upon the Question) that this House do adjourn till to MorrowMorning Nine of the Clock.And then the House adjourned ’till to Morrow Morning Nine of the Clock.Thursday the 22d Day of March 1759.The Journal of Yesterday’s Proceedings was read.
