JULY 10, 1759419Treasurer’s Commission and otherContingencies 812:18: 6£ 15,000: 0: 0The first Resolution of the Committee being read a Second time, wasagreed unto by the House.The second Resolution of the Committee being read a Second time,was, upon the Question being put thereupon agreed unto by the House.The Third and Fourth Resolutions of the Committee being severallyread a Second time were severally agreed to by the House.Resolved That the Committee who were appointed to agree with aPrinter to print the Laws, be revived.And then the House adjourned till to-morrow Morning Ten of theClock.Tuesday the 10th Day of July 1759.The Journal of Yesterday’s Proceedings was read.Order’d That the Public Treasurer of this Province do pay, out of theMonies now lying in the Treasury, belonging to the Township Fund the Sumof Fifteen Thousand Pounds Current Money to such Person or Persons andin such manner and proportion as His Excellency the Governor shall bepleas’d to order and direct to be applied for discharging the Pay of ThreeCompanies now or late belonging to the South-Carolina Regiment which areto be continued in the Service of this Province till the First Day of Januarynext at the same Rates as were provided by Law, for paying the Officers ofthe like Rank and the private Men belonging to the said Regiment: WhichCompanies are each to consist of one Captain, Two Lieutenants, one Ensign,four Serjeants, four Corporals, two Drummers and one Hundred privateMen; with two Surgeons for the said three Companies at the Rate of TwoShillings and Six Pence Sterling per diem each.Order’d That this Order be sent to His Excellency the Governor for HisAssent and to His Majesty’s Council for their Concurrence and that Mr.Speaker do sign the same.Resolved That this House will make provision for replacing the said Sumof Fifteen Thousand Pounds to the said Fund.Order’d That Mr. Lynch and Mr. Middleton do carry the said Order tothe Governor and Council and desire their Concurrence.Resolved That the Committee who were appointed to enquire into thestate and condition of the Common Goal, and that the Prisoners therein havedue and proper allowance of Provisions given them, be revived.
