MARCH 20, 1759351Town from the 29th of September 1757 to the 29th of September 1758, withthe £5000 appropriated out of the General Duty Fund for this Use, and theSum of £62300 Granted for said Purpose by Law passed the 6th of July 1757amounts to £67300. And it is Debited with the following Sums, Vizt.For so much advanced by theTreasurer last Year £ 6787:01:11For The Commissioners of theFortifications Orders 56262:14:09£ 63049:16:08By which there appears to be a Ballance of £4250:3:4 of this Fund in theTreasury.That of the Fund for building a Parsonage House in Saint Michael’s Parishfrom the 29th of September 1757 to the 29th of September 1758 there is aBallance of £41:13:4 in favour of the Treasurer.That the Income of the Additional Duty for Fortifications from the passingof the Law to the 29th of September 1758, amounts to £14946:18:4; TheTreasurer’s Commission at £2 1 /2 per Cent: for receiving the Same is £373:13:5,being deducted leaves a Ballance of £14572:14:11; Of which Ballance Your Committeewith a Committee of the Council have burnt the Sum of £14500.That of the Fund for finishing Saint Michael’s Church to the 29th of September1758 there is a Ballance of £2482:1:7 due to The Treasurer, of which hewill be reimbursed by the Fund for Pest House and Beacons applied for thatUse.That of the Fund for Building the State House to the 29th of September1758 there is a Ballance of £19270:16:8 in favour of the Treasurer, which he is tobe reimbursed by the General Duty Fund, and Provision made in the Act ofAssembly passed the 21st of May 1757.That the Income on Licences for selling and retailing Strong Liquors forthe Year 1758 amounts to £2990:16:6; which together with £324:19:8, the Ballanceof Taxes on Transient Persons brought to this Fund makes in the whole £3315:16:2.That the Amount of the Fund appropriated for New Settlers to the 29thof September 1758 is £36497:0:4. Out of which the following to be deducted, Vizt.Payments made to theCommissary General £ 9055:10:09The Treasurer’s Commissions 226:07:09£ 9281:18:06From whence it appears there is a Ballance due to this Fund of £27215:1:10.
