MARCH 11, 1760481the rest of the Gentlemen, adjourned the meeting of the House till to-morrowMorning, Nine of the Clock.Saturday the 8th Day of March 1760.The following Gentlemen met, vizt., Mr. Rattray, Mr. Lowndes, Mr.Guerard, Mr. Middleton, Mr. Berresford, Mr. Roper, Mr. Manigault;And the said Gentlemen made choice of Richard Berresford Esqr. tobe their chairman, to adjourn the meeting of the House; And he, by thedesire of the rest of the Gentlemen, adjourned the meeting of the Housetill Monday Morning, Ten of the Clock.Monday the 10th Day of March 1760.The following Gentlemen met, vizt., Mr. Lamboll, Mr. Guerard, Mr. Wragg,Mr. Laurens, Mr. Rattray, Mr. Pinckney, Mr. Stoutenburgh, Mr. Manigault;And the said Gentlemen made choice of Henry Laurens Esqr. to betheir Chairman, to adjourn the meeting of the House; And he, by the desireof the rest of the Gentlemen, adjourned the meeting of the House tillto-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock.Tuesday the 11th Day of March 1760.The House met.A Message from The Governor by Mr. Simpson.Mr. Speaker,The Governor commands this House to attend His Excellency immediately,in the Council-Chamber.And then the Messenger withdrew.And accordingly, Mr. Speaker, with the House, went up to attend HisExcellency in the Council-Chamber.And being returned, Mr. Speaker reported, that the House had attendedThe Governor in the Council-Chamber; where His Excellency hadbeen pleased to make a Speech to His Majesty’s Council and this House; ofwhich, Mr. Speaker said to prevent Mistakes, he had obtained a Copy, andwhich Mr. Speaker read to the House, and is as followeth, Vizt.Honorable Gentlemen,Mr. Speaker and Gentlemen,His Majesty having been graciously pleas’d to appoint me Governor ofHis Island of Jamaica; and the Honorable William Bull Esqr., Lieutenant
