To meet program requirements, science<br />

courses must be less than 10 years old at<br />

the time the student begins NU 101.<br />

Points for PY 101, PY 201, so 101,<br />

en 101, en 102, HU/sL eLeCtive,<br />

mA 102 or mA 110:<br />

3.5 points for a grade of A<br />

3.0 points for a grade of A-<br />

2.5 points for a grade of B+<br />

2.0 points for a grade of B<br />

1.6 points for a grade of B-<br />

1.3 points for a grade of C+<br />

1.0 points for a grade of C<br />

24.5 Total Points Possible<br />

Courses graded as “pass” will be given<br />

points for a grade of C.<br />

Points for GPA:<br />

Ten points will be given to students with a<br />

GPA of 3.5-4.0. Five points will be given<br />

to students with a GPA of 3.0-3.49. The<br />

GPA used for the calculation of points<br />

will be from C-<strong>GCC</strong> (unless the majority<br />

of the 10 non-nursing courses were taken<br />

at another college). All 10 non-nursing<br />

courses do not need to be completed to<br />

receive these points.<br />

HiGH sCHooL stUdents:<br />

Students who apply while completing<br />

their senior year of high school will be<br />

considered based on high school grades.<br />

Acceptance will be contingent on fnal<br />

high school grades upon graduation. High<br />

school students who choose to take a<br />

year of general education courses before<br />

beginning Nursing 101, are guaranteed a<br />

seat in Nursing 101 the following year, if<br />

their GPA is 2.5 or higher and they submit<br />

a “Nursing Program Entrance Form.”<br />

APPLiCAtion ProCedUre:<br />

Students matriculated in the Liberal Arts/<br />

Math Science: Pre-Nursing curriculum<br />

may apply for entrance into the nursing<br />

program. The Nursing Program Entrance<br />

form must be received by February 1st (or the next business day, if the college<br />

is closed on February 1st ). Seats will be<br />

given to students achieving the highest<br />

number of points. Students submitting<br />

the Nursing Program Entrance Form after<br />

February 1st will be considered if seats are<br />

available.<br />

If at any time, the students GPA falls<br />

below 2.5, the student will be deregistered<br />

from the nursing course and removed from<br />

the nursing curriculum (curriculum will be<br />

changed to : Pre-Nursing).
