and universities that offer alternatives<br />
for obtaining a bachelor’s degree. These<br />
are designed to provide maximum<br />
fexibility in earning credits through<br />
a combination of evening, part-time,<br />
Internet, and experiential learning. For<br />

employment outcomes measures<br />
Each year C-<strong>GCC</strong> surveys all of its<br />
graduates to collect information regarding<br />
their educational and employment status<br />
one year after graduation. The most recent<br />
survey of graduates reported the following<br />
outcomes:<br />
fUrtHer edUCAtion<br />
Forty percent of C-<strong>GCC</strong> graduates<br />
continued their education on a full-time<br />
basis immediately after graduating. Sixty<br />
percent of those graduates went on to<br />
attend a senior institution in the State<br />
University of New York system, while<br />
thirty percent went on to attend private<br />
colleges and universities within the state.<br />
Ten percent continued their education out<br />
of state.<br />

emPLoYment<br />
Fifty-fve percent of associate and<br />
certifcate graduates were employed<br />
immediately after graduation.<br />
Over ninety-fve percent of nursing<br />
graduates found employment as registered<br />
nurses immediately after graduation, with<br />
an average starting salary of $52,170.<br />
distance Learning<br />
Most distance learning opportunities at the<br />
college are offered via the Internet using<br />
Blackboard as the course management<br />
system. In compliance with the Higher<br />
Education Opportunity Act, Blackboard<br />
access is obtained through secure sign-on.<br />
Some Internet courses are administered<br />
totally online while others may require<br />
that testing take place at the college’s<br />
Academic Support Center or at other preapproved<br />
testing sites. Hybrid courses<br />
combine online learning with the face-toface<br />
experience; these courses meet in the<br />
classroom as well as online.<br />
Admission to an Internet or Hybrid class<br />
requires the ability to begin EN 101 and<br />
the achievement of a score of 80 or higher<br />
on the reading placement test.<br />
