application for admission.<br />
• Interview with an Admissions<br />
Counselor.<br />
• Submit offcial documentation<br />
from the school district (on the<br />
school’s letterhead) or accredited<br />
institution monitoring the homeschooled<br />
experience that attests<br />
to the student’s satisfactory<br />
completion of the equivalent of the<br />
junior year in high school.<br />
• Take the placement exam and<br />
score college level in English,<br />
reading and math.<br />

In addition to a <strong>Columbia</strong>-<strong>Greene</strong><br />
Application for Admission, international<br />
students must provide C-<strong>GCC</strong> with the<br />
following information before we can make<br />
an admissions decision:<br />
foreign student<br />
financial statement<br />
The student must submit original or<br />
offcially certifed bank statements or<br />
income verifcation documents which<br />
show evidence of suffcient fnancial<br />
support ($15,000 US) for one academic<br />
year sent to the Admissions Offce. Please<br />
be aware that the same amount will be<br />
needed for the second year of study.<br />
Financial Aid and/or scholarships are NOT<br />
available to international students.<br />
note: It is highly recommended that<br />
you retain a notarized/certifed copy of<br />
the fnancial documentation to present to<br />
the U.S. Immigration Offcial at the U.S.<br />
Embassy in your country when applying<br />
for a student visa.<br />

English Profciency<br />
<strong>Columbia</strong>-<strong>Greene</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
does not have an English as a Second<br />
Language (ESL) program. Therefore,<br />
English profciency is required for<br />
acceptance to the college. International<br />
students must take the Test of English as a<br />
Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination<br />
and receive a minimum score of 575<br />
on the paper-based test and 230 on the<br />
computer-based test or 89 on the internetbased<br />
test. An offcial score report must<br />
be sent to the Admissions Offce. For<br />

visit www.toef.com<br />
A TOEFL score report is required for ALL<br />
international students.<br />
The SUNY English Profciency Report<br />
does replace the TOEFL examination that<br />
all international students are required to<br />
take.<br />
High school or secondary<br />
school transcript<br />
The student must submit an original,<br />
offcial transcript to the C-<strong>GCC</strong><br />
Admissions Offce. Offcial high school<br />
transcripts are original, or offcially<br />
certifed copies, signed and sealed<br />
documents that are sent directly from<br />
a high school or secondary school to<br />
C-<strong>GCC</strong> in a sealed envelope.<br />
Students must have their transcripts<br />
evaluated and translated into English<br />
with information regarding the equivalent<br />
educational level obtained in the American<br />
educational system (high school, college,<br />
etc.). The cost of this evaluation is<br />
incumbent upon the student. An offcial<br />
copy of the evaluation must be sent<br />
directly to C-<strong>GCC</strong> in a sealed envelope<br />
from the evaluator/evaluation agency.
