hardware, operating systems, networking,<br />

contemporary uses of the internet, and<br />

Provides an introduction to computers<br />

networks. Topics include: network<br />

hardware, software, and architecture;<br />

communication protocols; local-area and<br />

Cs 160—visual BAsiC<br />

An introduction to creating Windows<br />

applications using a visual programming<br />

language. This course covers the<br />

fundamentals of event-driven<br />

programming in a graphical user<br />

interface environment. Topics include<br />

basic programming concepts, object<br />

programming, forms, events, controls,<br />

built-in functions, procedures, graphics,<br />

and animation. Prerequisite: CS 134. (3<br />

Cs 203—database Concepts<br />

A study of the uses and types of database<br />

management systems. The main focus<br />

will be a combination of practical<br />

database design principles with handson<br />

experience in the computer lab. It<br />

will cover hierarchical and relational<br />

design, input and report formats,<br />

database programming techniques, query<br />

languages, and integration with other<br />

applications. Prerequisite: CS 134. (3<br />

The fundamental concepts of business<br />
