The general convention whichhad evoked <strong>the</strong> insurrection was now held. It was here thatBessus was tried before <strong>the</strong> assembly <strong>of</strong> notables, convicted<strong>and</strong> mutilated by cutting <strong>of</strong>f his nose <strong>and</strong> ears.
