2009 – 2013 FINA SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING MANUALFOR JUDGES, COACHES & REFEREESSECTION IIITEAM ELEMENT 3435 – Nova is executed to the completion of a Bent Knee Surface Arch position; the legs aresimultaneously lifted to a Vertical position as the bent knee is extended. A continuous Spin of 1080* ( 3rotations) is executed until the heels reach the surface, without submergence, followed by a rapid Spin Upof 180*. A Vertical Descent is executed at the same tempo as Spin Up 180*. ( DD 2.9)Handbook Description Basic Position Basic Move Desired Actionsa) From a Back layout position aDolphin is initiated until the hipsare about to submerge.Back Layoutposition (BP1)1. From a BackLayout Position(BP11) with legsremaining on thesurface, the head andupper body leave thesurface sequentially tostart to follow thecircumference of acircle which has adiameter ofapproximately 2,5meters, depending onthe height of theswimmer.
