The stocking density of shrimpponds in societies (2 to 10 shrimp per m 2 ) is on lower side. The environmental risks were also reduced by thedecrease in pollution resulting from minimal and efficient use of resources (energy and feed), reduced use ofchemicals, antibiotics and limited discharge of sediments and water exchange.
