Anti-ignition back sprays, an effective method to reduce frictionalignitions, are discussed <strong>in</strong> the longwall chapter (Chapter 4). Br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g water to the cutter headon cont<strong>in</strong>uous m<strong>in</strong>ers has been an eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g challenge.
