SERIES NOTES
‣ ¾The Lions completed their first
undefeated home season since
1962 with a 34-20 win over the Jets
on December 8, 1991.
‣ ¾Detroit claimed a memorable 13-
10 decision over the Jets at the
Silverdome on December 21, 1997
in a game in which the winner
qualified for the playoffs and the
loser was eliminated. RB Barry
Sanders’ 184 rushing yards in the
contest made him only the third
player in NFL history to eclipse
the 2,000-yard mark in a season.
The noise was so boisterous at the
sold-out Silverdome near the end
of the game that players reported
the turf actually vibrating beneath
their feet. Unfortunately, Lions LB
Reggie Brown suffered a careerending
neck injury in the fourth
quarter of the game.
‣ ¾The Lions defeated the Jets 10-7
at the Meadowlands on December
17, 2000 in the Lions’ final road
game of the season. Detroit’s lone
touchdown was a fumble recovery
in the endzone by G Jeff Hartings.
‣ ¾The Lions defteated the Jets 24-17
in their first appearance at Met Life
Stadium on September 28, 2014.
