• His go-ahead touchdown with 2:22 left in the game helped give the Lions their first road win at Soldier Field since<br />

of 79 and 19 yards.<br />

• With 179 yards at Pittsburgh (11/17), Johnson recorded a 100-yard game in nine of his past 10 games vs. AFC opponents,<br />

COLLEGE<br />

Johnson was a two-time All-American who claimed the 2006 Biletnikoff Award (nation’s top receiver) and 2006 ACC<br />

Conference Player of the Year. He was named First Team All-ACC three-straight years (2004-06), and was the first player<br />

in Georgia Tech history to earn that honor. He was also named ACC Rookie of the Year in 2004 and First-Team Freshman<br />

All-America. In 38 games, he set school records with 2,927 yards receiving and 28 touchdown receptions. Caught 178 passes<br />

to rank second in Georgia Tech history in career receptions.<br />

‣ ¾ Joined quarterback Joe Hamilton as the only Yellow Jacket to be named ACC Player of the Year, and was just the second<br />

junior (the other was Florida State’s Charlie Ward in 1992) in the last 25 years to win the ACC Player of the Year award.<br />

‣ ¾ Also joins Hamilton, the 1999 Davey O’Brien Award winner, as the only Tech players to win a national award.<br />

‣ ¾ As a senior, tied for second in the nation with a 15 touchdown catches, a Georgia Tech record, and only two players in<br />

ACC history have caught more (Clarkston Hines, Duke with 17 in 1989 and Torry Holt, NC State with 16 in 1997). Caught<br />

15 of Tech’s 25 touchdown passes.<br />

‣ ¾ Career-best 168 yards receiving on nine receptions in win at N.C. State, including two touchdowns. Caught touchdowns<br />

passes of 25 and 43 yards in the first quarter, then set up the clinching touchdown with a 33-yard reception down to<br />

the 7-yard line late in the game.<br />

‣ ¾ In 2005, First Team all-America by the American Football Coaches’ Association (AFCA), the 48th First Team all-America<br />

in school history but first since offensive tackle Chris Brown in 2000. Also earned second-team all-America honors from<br />

Associated Press and Walter Camp, as well as first-team accolades from Rivals.com. The first Tech receiver to earn<br />

All-America recognition of any kind since Billy Martin in 1963.<br />

‣ ¾ Unanimous first-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, earning all-ACC honors for the second straight year.<br />

‣ ¾ Semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver as a sophomore.<br />

‣ ¾ Named First Team all-ACC, just the second true freshman in school history, and the 11th in league history, to earn<br />

first-team all-ACC honors. Becomes the sixth Tech player so honored.<br />

‣ ¾ First Team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News and Rivals.com.<br />
