SERIES NOTES
‣ ¾Detroit’s 44-0 win over the Jaguars
December 17, 1995 represents the
largest victory margin in Lions’
history and was the largest in
the NFL in 1995. The game also
marked the inaugural contest in
the series between the Lions and
the Jaguars.
‣ ¾Lions KR Eddie Drummond had
one of the finest performances
by a returner in NFL history that
ultimately forced the Lions’ game
at Jacksonville into overtime
November 14, 2004. Drummond
became the first player in NFL
history to return two punts for
touchdowns in the fourth quarter
and the 11th (14th time) to return
two punts for a touchdowns in a
single game.
‣ ¾Drummond’s six punt returns
against the Jaguars (11/14/04)
for 199 yards (33.2 avg) is the
third-best single-game total in
NFL history and set a new Lions’
franchise record for punt return
yards in a game.
‣ ¾Drummond’s two punt returns for
touchdowns (55 and 83 yards) at
Jacksonville (11/14/04) marked
the third time in Lions’ history that
a player recorded two punt return
touchdowns in a game. CBJack
Christiansen accomplished the feat
twice in 1951 (2 vs. LA 10/14/51
and 2 vs. GB 11/22/51).
‣ ¾In the Lions’ 31-14 win in the 2012
contest, RB Mikel Leshoure rushed
his way into Lions history in as
he carried the ball 16 times for
70 yards and three touchdowns.
He became the first player in
Lions history to rush for three
touchdowns in the first half of a
game. Leshoure also became the
10th player in Lions history with
three rushing touchdowns in a
game and it is the 16th time it has
occurred in team history.
