Week 5 at Green Bay (10/6).<br />

‣ ¾ Intercepted two passes, led the team in tackles with eight (seven solo) and posted two pass defenses in Week 6 at<br />

Cleveland (10/13). With two interceptions, Levy became the first Lions linebacker to intercept two passes in a game<br />

since LB Mike Johnson grabbed two at Houston December 10, 1995.<br />

‣ ¾ Finished second on the team in tackles with eight (seven solo) and posted one pass defense in Week 7 vs. Cincinnati (10/20).<br />

‣ ¾ Registered five tackles (three solo), including one tackle for loss in Week 8 vs. Dallas (10/27).<br />

‣ ¾ Finished second on the team in tackles with five (three solo), including one tackle for loss in Week 8 vs. Dallas (10/27),<br />

giving him over 400 tackles for his career (402).<br />

‣ ¾ In Week 10 at Chicago (11/10) intercepted a pass for the fifth time this season, and he became the fifth Lions linebacker<br />

in team history to record five interceptions in a season and first since LB Jimmy Williams in 1989. Also had six tackles<br />

(five solo) and a pass defense.<br />

‣ ¾ Levy’s interception was the 10th of his career, and he became the seventh linebacker in team history to record 10<br />

career interceptions.<br />

‣ ¾ Led the team in tackles with 12 (eight solo), including two tackles for loss, and posted two pass defenses in Week 11<br />

at Pittsburgh (11/17).<br />

‣ ¾ Finished second on the team in tackles with nine (six solo) and had one pass defense in Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay (11/24).<br />

‣ ¾ Posted four tackles (one solo), one interception and two pass defenses in Week 13 vs. Green Bay (11/28).<br />

• With an interception vs. Green Bay (11/28), Levy became the third Lions linebacker in team history to record six<br />

interceptions in a season and first since Hall of Fame LB Joe Schmidt in 1958. He joined Hall of Fame C-LB Alex<br />

Wojciechowicz (1944) and Schmidt as the only linebackers to record six picks in a season. Also posted five tackles<br />

(one solo) and two pass defenses.<br />

‣ ¾ Had five tackles (three solo) in Week 14 at Philadelphia (12/8).<br />

‣ ¾ Recorded five tackles (four solo) and two quarterback hits in Week 15 vs. Baltimore (12/16).<br />

COLLEGE<br />

The defense’s sparkplug from the strong-side linebacker position at Wisconsin, Levy provided the Badgers with a quality<br />

blitzer and the quickness to easily cover receivers on deep routes. As a senior in 2008, Levy started in all 13 games at strong<br />

side linebacker and ranked second on the team with 73 tackles (28 solo) and five sacks for minus 41 yards.<br />

‣ ¾ In 21 of his last 39 games, he registered at least one tackle behind the line of scrimmage or a sack.<br />

‣ ¾ Creating turnovers became his specialty as he blocked one kick, intercepted two passes, caused six fumbles and registered<br />

six fumble recoveries during his time in the starting lineup.<br />

‣ ¾ Levy closed out his career with 211 tackles (116 solo), 15.0 sacks for minus 105 yards, 28.0 stops for losses totaling<br />

155 yards and 10 QB pressures. Also caused six fumbles and recovered six others, returning one 45 yards, deflected<br />

seven passes, intercepted two others and blocked a kick.<br />

‣ ¾ Started all 13 games at strong-side linebacker in 2008 and ranked second on the team with 73 tackles (28 solos),<br />

collecting five sacks for minus 41 yards, 9.5 stops for losses of 51 yards and one quarterback pressure. All-Big Ten<br />

Conference honorable mention by the league’s coaches and media. Recipient of the Tom Wiesner Award, given to a<br />

senior football player who most exemplifies the leadership and courage that Tom Wiesner displayed throughout his life.<br />

PERSONAL<br />

Attended Vincent (Milwaukee, Wisc.) High School, playing football for head coach Elliot Lightfoot.<br />

‣ ¾ Midwest Top 100 selection by Super Prep during his senior year.<br />

‣ ¾ Served as team captain in each of his last three seasons, twice earning squad Most Valuable Player honors.<br />

‣ ¾ In his final season, the linebacker recorded 84 tackles, including 21 stops behind the line of scrimmage, along with five<br />

quarterback sacks and four forced fumbles. Also saw action on offense that year, catching 12 passes for 260 yards and<br />

three touchdowns.<br />
