admissibility and juridical effects. It may also decide <strong>to</strong><br />

continue the case, nonetheless. 907<br />

Judgement: If the Court finds that there has been a violation<br />

of a right or freedom protected by the Convention, the Court<br />

shall rule that the injured party be ensured the enjoyment of<br />

the right or freedom that was violated. It shall also rule, if<br />

appropriate, that the consequences of the measure or situation<br />

that constituted the breach of such right or freedom be<br />

remedied and that fair compensation be paid <strong>to</strong> the injured<br />

party. 908 The judgments of the Court are final and the States<br />

Parties <strong>to</strong> the Convention are bound <strong>to</strong> comply with them.<br />

Compensa<strong>to</strong>ry damages provided with by the Court are<br />

executive in the State Party. 909<br />

Interpretative Rulings: The Court may accept request of<br />

interpretation of its previous judgments by any of the parties<br />

within 90 days from the notification of the judgment. 910<br />

6. African Commission on Human and Peoples’<br />

Rights<br />

Prepara<strong>to</strong>ry Stage: The Secretary of the Commission<br />

transmits <strong>to</strong> the Commission for its consideration any<br />

communication submitted <strong>to</strong> him. The Commission, through the<br />

Secretary, may request the author of a communication <strong>to</strong><br />

furnish clarifications on the communication. 911<br />

Admissibility Stage: Communications are examined by the<br />

Commission in private. 912 The Commission may set up one or<br />

more working groups of maximum three members <strong>to</strong> submit<br />
