day," etc., is <strong>the</strong> reading <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Septuagint, <strong>the</strong><br />

Syriac, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Samaritan; "<strong>and</strong> this should be<br />

considered <strong>the</strong> genuine reading," says Dr. A.<br />

2. In an anonymous work entitled "Morality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Fourth Comm<strong>and</strong>ment," London, 1652, but not<br />

<strong>the</strong> same with that <strong>of</strong> Dr. Twisse, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same<br />

title, is <strong>the</strong> following striking passage: "The<br />

Hebrew root for seven, signifies fullness,<br />

Apocalypse useth much that number. As,<br />

sanctify <strong>and</strong> hallow. Ed. 1859. The revised<br />

edition edition <strong>of</strong> 1864 gives this definition:<br />

"To make sacred or holy; to set apart to a holy<br />

or religious use; to consecrate by appropriate<br />

rites; to hallow. God blessed <strong>the</strong> seventh day,<br />
