under his protection; that he erects, wherever his<br />
<strong>in</strong>fluence reaches, sacrilegious altars aga<strong>in</strong>st the<br />
altar of God, <strong>and</strong> that he establishes pulpits of<br />
falsehood aga<strong>in</strong>st the pulpits of truth." Besides<br />
these sc<strong>and</strong>alous deeds, the legate charges<br />
Radziwill with other he<strong>in</strong>ous transgressions aga<strong>in</strong>st<br />
the Papacy, as the cast<strong>in</strong>g down the images of the<br />

put his own salvation <strong>in</strong> peril set about writ<strong>in</strong>g a<br />
work aga<strong>in</strong>st "the apostates of Germany," which<br />
resulted <strong>in</strong> his own conversion to <strong>Protestantism</strong>. He<br />
communicated his change of m<strong>in</strong>d to his brother,<br />
Bishop of Pola, who at first opposed, <strong>and</strong> at last<br />
