PERSPECTIVES ON WRITING<br />

Series Editor, Susan H. McLeod<br />

The Perspectives on Writ<strong>in</strong>g series addresses writ<strong>in</strong>g studies <strong>in</strong> a broad sense.<br />

Consistent with <strong>the</strong> wide rang<strong>in</strong>g approaches characteristic of teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong><br />

scholarship <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g across <strong>the</strong> curriculum, <strong>the</strong> series presents works that take<br />

divergent perspectives on work<strong>in</strong>g as a writer, teach<strong>in</strong>g writ<strong>in</strong>g, adm<strong>in</strong>ister<strong>in</strong>g<br />

writ<strong>in</strong>g programs, <strong>and</strong> study<strong>in</strong>g writ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> its various forms.<br />

The WAC Clear<strong>in</strong>ghouse <strong>and</strong> Parlor Press are collaborat<strong>in</strong>g so that <strong>the</strong>se books<br />

will be widely available through free digital distribution <strong>and</strong> low-cost pr<strong>in</strong>t editions.<br />

The publishers <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Series editor are teachers <strong>and</strong> researchers of writ<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

committed to <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>in</strong>ciple that knowledge should freely circulate. We see <strong>the</strong><br />

opportunities that new technologies have for fur<strong>the</strong>r democratiz<strong>in</strong>g knowledge.<br />

And we see that to share <strong>the</strong> power of writ<strong>in</strong>g is to share <strong>the</strong> means for all to<br />

articulate <strong>the</strong>ir needs, <strong>in</strong>terest, <strong>and</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> great experiment of literacy.<br />
