Dear Chairman,
I work in the lift sector and I have always been
a reader of your magazine. Last April I attended
Interlift and had the pleasure of meeting the
editorial staff at your stand, which I thought was
very charming and perfect for celebrating 50
years of Elevatori Magazine!
I'm writing to share with you my impressions of
the book released to celebrate 50 years of the
magazine which you were handing out at the fair.
Upon opening the book and leafing through the
pages, I was really impressed: it had a significant
emotional impact because you managed to
evoke the essence of the last 50 years of the lift
industry in Italy and around the world. There
are over 300 hundred of your magazine covers
which, one after the other, form the stills of a
film stretching back half a century, highlighting
the main aspects that have affected the sector
over the years. The book shows how the style of
the magazine has changed over time as well as
that of the businesses that choose to advertise
there. It was a great trip down memory lane.
It is a tale full of atmosphere and emotions
that is also rich with information. It has an
empathetic approach both for those who lived
through that era (and can therefore remember)
and for the young who are starting out in the
industry and who can, therefore, benefit from
this wealth of knowledge.
As a reader, I can confess that I read it with a
mixture of fond memories of how we were and
of pride in what we have become. I will treasure
it.

Caro direttore,
sono un ascensorista e lettore della rivista da
sempre. Ad aprile scorso sono stato a Interlift e,
nell’occasione, ho avuto il piacere di incontrare
la redazione nel vostro stand, che ho trovato
molto bello e adatto a festeggiare i 50 anni di
Elevatori Magazine!
Ora Le scrivo per condividere con lei qualche
impressione sul libro celebrativo dei 50 anni
della rivista che avete regalato in fiera.
Nell’aprire il volume e scorrerne le pagine,
sono rimasto davvero impressionato: trovo
che l’impatto emotivo sia molto forte perché
siete riusciti a far emergere il sapore di 50 anni
di ascensorismo in Italia e nel mondo. Sono
le oltre 300 copertine della vostra rivista che,
una dopo l’altra, costituiscono i fotogrammi di
un film lungo mezzo secolo, da cui emergono i
temi principali che hanno attraversato il settore
negli anni. Dal libro si vede come è cambiato nel
tempo lo stile della rivista e anche quello delle
aziende che la hanno scelta per fare pubblicità. È
stato un bel viaggio nella memoria.
Un racconto che trasmette atmosfere e suscita
emozioni, ancor prima di comunicare nozioni e
dati. Con un approccio empatico sia per chi quel
periodo lo ha vissuto (e può quindi ricordare),
sia per i più giovani, che si affacciano su questo
mondo e ne possono così cogliere la ricchezza
della memoria.
Da lettore, posso confessarvi che lo si legge
con un misto di tenerezza per come eravamo
e di orgoglio per ciò che siamo diventati. Lo
conserverò con cura.

to celebrate the 50 years of Elevatori Magazine.
You are quite right: what you describe is indeed
the spirit behind this work and I am delighted
to find that we succeeded in our endeavour. We
wanted to share with our readers the vast wealth
of information in our archives, which include
all the volumes edited over 50 years. It was a
team effort, for which I would like to thank the
editorial team that worked on it.

su ‘50 Years together’, il libro che abbiamo
realizzato per festeggiare i 50 anni di Elevatori
Magazine. Ha colto nel segno: quello da lei
descritto è proprio lo spirito di quest’opera e mi
fa molto piacere constatare che siamo riusciti
nel nostro intento. Volevamo condividere con i
lettori il grande bagaglio che abbiamo nel nostro
archivio, che racchiude tutti i volumi editi in
50 anni. È stato un lavoro di squadra, per cui
ringrazio la redazione che vi ha lavorato.
