EOS Investment Management (EOS IM), an

the Italian leader in the specialized
distribution of spare parts
components for the Elevators &
Escalators sector, a sector that is

as the introduction of digital solutions aimed at
providing additional services and greater safety.
The company (which has had revenues growing
at 10 percent annually for the past 3 years and
will reach the 24 million mark this year) has
headquarters in Cernusco sul Naviglio and
branches in France, Germany, and the United
Arab Emirates. Thanks to its widespread presence
and high distribution efficiency, it reaches 45
countries and delivers to Europe within 24 hours,
with an assortment of more than 12,000 items.

REMOTE ASSISTANCE ON ESCALATORS
AND MOVING WALKWAYS
‘Augmented reality’ enables a technological
breakthrough in the remote assistance on
escalators and moving walkways.
SMI Italy recently started a fruitful
collaboration with Univet, the
Italian company that created the
world’s first augmented reality
safety glasses. These are viewers
certified according to EN 166 and
ANSI Z87.1 Standards, classified as Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE). These viewers
allow the operator to remotely assist in plant
maintenance and service operations.

SCALE E TAPPETI MOBILI
La ‘realtà aumentata’ permette una svolta
tecnologica nel campo dell’assistenza remota
su scale e tappeti mobili. SMI Italia
ha recentemente avviato una proficua
collaborazione con Univet, l’azienda
italiana che ha creato il primo occhiale di
sicurezza a realtà aumentata al mondo.
Si tratta di visori certificati secondo
le Normative EN 166 e ANSI Z87.1,
classificati come Dispositivo di Protezione
Individuale (DPI). Questi visori consentono di
assistere da remoto l’operatore nelle operazioni
di manutenzione e assistenza degli impianti.

The magazine is published by Peters Research
Ltd, which is actively involved in supporting
the UK and global lift industry. It will be a free
quarterly magazine.
