Thanks to its widespread presence and high distribution efficiency, it reaches 45 countries and delivers to Europe within 24 hours, with an assortment of more than 12,000 items. REMOTE ASSISTANCE ON ESCALATORS AND MOVING WALKWAYS ‘Augmented reality’ enables a technological breakthrough in the remote assistance on escalators and moving walkways. SMI Italy recently started a fruitful collaboration with Univet, the Italian company that created the world’s first augmented reality safety glasses. These are viewers certified according to EN 166 and ANSI Z87.1 Standards, classified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). These viewers allow the operator to remotely assist in plant maintenance and service operations. Si tratta di visori certificati secondo le Normative EN 166 e ANSI Z87.1, classificati come Dispositivo di Protezione Individuale (DPI). The magazine is published by Peters Research Ltd, which is actively involved in supporting the UK and global lift industry. KING FELIPE VI OF SPAIN INAUGURATES OTIS’ NEW FACTORY In June 2022, Otis Worldwide Corporation, the world’s leading company for elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service, in the presence of King Felipe VI of Spain and several other distinguished guests, inaugurated its newest industrial facility in San Sebastian, Spain, for which it has invested 20 million euros. The new 17,000 square meter site builds on the legacy of the previous factory established in the region in the 1920s. “This inauguration marks our renewed commitment to developing high-precision manufacturing in the Basque Country,” declared Judy Marks, Chair, Chief Executive Officer and President, Otis Worldwide Corporation. “Our products, services and geographic footprint in Spain are critical components of our long-term growth strategy. With this new factory, we will continue to develop and produce innovative mobility solutions that are ever more efficient and connected.” RE FILIPPO VI DI SPAGNA INAUGURA IL NUOVO STABILIMENTO OTIS Otis ha investito 20 milioni di euro nello stabilimento di San Sebastian. LIFTEX 2022: IN LONDON FROM OCTOBER 12 TO 13 The Lift & Escalator Industry Association (LEIA), organisers of LiftEx, have announced that the event will take place from 12-13 October 2022 at ExCeL, London. Originally planned for May 2022, but postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LiftEx is the showcase for the lift and escalator industry in UK. Aimed at installers, designers and building managers, LiftEx only takes place once every three years.
