SCHINDLER GROUP:
ZERO-EMISSIONS BY 2040
Schindler Group has announced its
commitment to achieve zero greenhouse gas
emissions worldwide by 2040.
The targets were endorsed
by the Science Based Targets
initiative (SBTi), the global
body that supports companies
in setting emission reduction
targets in line with the shared
commitment to keep the
global average temperature
within 1.5°C. “By setting
some of the most ambitious
targets in our industry, we want to accelerate
the transition to a low-emissions future,”
said Silvio Napoli, President and CEO of
Schindler Group.
The Group’s short-term goal for 2030
includes an absolute reduction of 50
percent in greenhouse gas emissions from
its operations, taking the year 2020 as the
baseline. This includes emissions generated
by its fleet of cars,
buildings and processes,
as well as those from the
purchase of electricity,
heating and cooling. In
addition, Schindler aims
to reduce emissions from
its value chain by 42
percent.
This announcement
comes in conjunction with the publication of
Schindler’s Corporate Responsibility Report
for the year 2021.

entro il 2040. Gli obiettivi sono
stati approvati dalla Science
Based Targets initiative (SBTi),
l’organismo mondiale che
supporta le aziende nel fissare
target di riduzione delle emissioni
in linea con l’impegno comune a
mantenere la temperatura media
globale entro 1,5°C. “Ponendoci
alcuni degli obiettivi più
ambiziosi del nostro settore, vogliamo accelerare
la transizione verso un futuro a basse emissioni”
ha dichiarato Silvio Napoli, Presidente e
Amministratore Delegato di Schindler Group.
L’obiettivo a breve termine del Gruppo per
il 2030 prevede una riduzione assoluta del
50% delle emissioni di gas a effetto serra
derivanti dalle proprie attività, prendendo
come riferimento l’anno 2020. Ciò include le

emissioni generate dal proprio
parco auto, dagli edifici e dai
processi, nonché quelle derivanti
dall’acquisto di elettricità,
riscaldamento e raffreddamento.
Inoltre, Schindler mira a ridurre
del 42% le emissioni della sua
catena del valore.
Questo annuncio arriva
in concomitanza con la
pubblicazione del Bilancio di Responsabilità
d’Impresa (Corporate Responsibility Report) di
Schindler per l’anno 2021.

Schindler is launching Port 4D, a traffic
management system optimising movement
within buildings and enabling more
efficient access for users. Using a dedicated
smartphone app, the
system communicates
with the installed
Schindler lifts, reducing
energy consumption
by up to 40 percent.
It is also possible to
integrate the system with
hardware and software
interfaces for extended
functionality, such as
facial recognition,
robotics and digital
entertainment.

Schindler lancia Port 4D, il sistema per la
gestione dei flussi di traffico in grado di
ottimizzare gli spostamenti all’interno degli
edifici e permettere un accesso più efficiente
agli utenti. Tramite un’app
per smartphone dedicata,
il sistema è in grado di
comunicare con gli ascensori
Schindler installati,
riducendone anche i consumi
energetici fino al 40%. È
possibile inoltre integrare
il sistema con interfacce
hardware e software per
funzionalità estese, come il
riconoscimento facciale, la
robotica e l’intrattenimento
digitale.
