The latest job market information reveals a labour shortage of electronics engineering technicians<br />
over the next 10 years — and you can launch your career in just two. Get your start in the industry with<br />
an optimum balance between hands-on experience and theory in this program, which covers areas<br />
such as wireless communications, data communications, microcontrollers, and industrial systems.<br />
To ensure you have a solid foundation in modern electronics, work with computers, communication<br />
transceivers, and electronics testing and measurement equipment. Graduate feeling prepared for<br />
career success with your well-rounded educational experience.<br />
Notes:<br />
1. If you complete the program with a minimum 2.0 GPA, you may gain further training by transferring into Semester 5 of the<br />
program’s Technologist version.<br />
2. If you complete 80 per cent of the Year 1 course load and have a 3.5 GPA or above, you can enrol in Samsung Pathway. As<br />
part of this program, you will take preparatory course modules to write the TSSA GAS Technician 3 certification exam. Upon<br />
completion of the entire program, you will receive a Recognition of Achievement – Samsung Pathway in addition to your<br />
diploma (program #3220).<br />
Program Accreditation and Recognition<br />
• This program has met the national educational standards of Canada’s engineering technology and applied<br />
science profession, and as such, has received national program accreditation from Technology Accreditation<br />
Canada (TAC).<br />
• The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) recognizes this TAC<br />
nationally-accredited program as meeting the academic standard for certification in the Certified Technician<br />
(C.Tech.) category as well as the OACETT language benchmark requirement.<br />

Take your curiosity about the inner workings of your tablet and smartphone, and turn it into a career<br />
in electronics engineering technology. By balancing theory and hands-on experience, our courses<br />
offer knowledge and skills that reflect the latest industry developments. Your preparation includes<br />
exploring modern electronics, wireless communications, data communications, microcontrollers,<br />
and industrial systems. You also work with computers, communication transceivers, and electronics<br />
testing and measurement equipment. The program’s Technology aspect represents a third year of<br />
study, but if your educational goals change, you may opt to graduate as a Technician after only two<br />
years. No matter the route you choose, your education prepares you to go further faster.<br />
