Ford’s history as a successful automaker has been established since 1904. So, becoming a Ford<br />

automotive service technician is a solid career move — with room for advancement into leadership<br />

roles. Longer and more robust than traditional apprenticeship programs, Automotive Service<br />

Technician – Ford Asset (MAP 32) was created to give you an outstanding start to your career.<br />

Learn theory, techniques, and technology specific to Ford, with an emphasis on electronics and<br />

vehicle management system diagnosis in a realistic setting. This program is delivered in eight<br />

four-week blocks, for 32 weeks. Your time alternates between Centennial and your dealer for paid<br />

apprenticeship work terms (64 weeks total). During in-school training, you may be eligible for<br />

employment insurance.<br />

apprentices with the apprenticeship branch<br />

of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and<br />

With specific training on the latest General Motors (GM) vehicle systems, emphasizing diagnosis and<br />

repair following recommended GM service procedures, become prepared for work on the company’s<br />

vehicles and beyond. In specially outfitted automotive labs, this program’s more in-depth training,<br />

compared to a traditional apprenticeship, develops your technical expertise in electronics and<br />

management system diagnosing. Training is delivered in eight four-week blocks, for 32 weeks. Your<br />

education is divided between Centennial and your dealer for paid apprenticeship work terms (64<br />

weeks total). During in-school training, you may be eligible for employment insurance. Once you<br />

finish both components, you receive up to 21 GM Dealer Technician training credits — and you are<br />

prepared to take a leadership role in any workplace.<br />
