Advertising and Marketing Communications Management teaches you to combine creative and<br />

strategic thinking with business savvy and leadership skills to generate exciting ideas in account<br />

management, digital advertising, creative development, and more. Through practical learning,<br />

the program mirrors industry standards, including firm deadlines, multitasking, and delivering<br />

professional presentations. A foundation of industry knowledge (research, strategy development,<br />

campaign planning, production) leads to a specialization in account management, digital creative,<br />

or media buying and planning. This is the only Greater Toronto Area college advertising program<br />

with a 14-week field placement.<br />

In the coming years, employment growth in the sector that includes public relations is expected to<br />

be higher than the average for all occupations. It represents more than 40 per cent of the jobs that<br />

have and will become available from 2017 to 2026. This first-of-its-kind offering in Canada combines<br />

public relations, business studies, and leadership skills to prepare you for various careers. Through<br />

core business courses, the program balances theory, principles, and public relations applications<br />

with a solid business foundation. Courses cover writing, social and digital media, research and<br />

communications planning, and strategic and corporate communications. Apply your knowledge to<br />

real-world projects and to a 14-week co-op opportunity.<br />

1. This college has been granted a consent by the Minister of Colleges and Universities to offer this applied degree for a<br />

seven-year term starting August 18, 2020. The college shall ensure that all students admitted to the above-named program<br />

during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame.<br />

High School Applicants<br />

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)<br />

or equivalent<br />

• At least six Grade 12 M or U, or OAC credits<br />

with an overall average of 65 per cent or higher<br />

Courses must include:<br />

• Grade 12 English (U); final grade 70 per cent<br />

or higher<br />

• Grade 12 Mathematics (U); final grade<br />

65 per cent or higher<br />

Note: If you do not meet the math requirements, you may be<br />

considered for admission and will be required to complete<br />

a remedial mathematics course by the end of the first semester.<br />

Mature Applicants<br />

• 21 years of age or older by December 31 of<br />

the program year<br />

• Transcripts showing Grade 12 English (U),<br />
