If you thrive in dynamic working environments, a health care office administration career may be<br />

for you. Your ability to efficiently run an office will play an important role in ensuring patients receive<br />

quality care. In this program, gain organizational and clinical support skills to assist medical<br />

professionals and their patients as well as the leadership skills to get ahead. Your courses cover<br />

essential health care support topics such as: medical terminology, anatomy for health administration,<br />

medical transcription, medical office procedures, electronic health record management,<br />

computerized OHIP billing, and diagnostic and lab procedures. During a work placement in a health<br />

care setting, apply your learning to various real-life scenarios.<br />

Combining your interest in the legal system with office administration opens doors to a career in law<br />

firms, government agencies, corporate legal departments, and other legal offices. In this program,<br />

build an understanding of current Canadian law issues, and become adept in specialized practice<br />

areas such as civil litigation, family law, real estate, and wills and estate. Courses balance theory with<br />

practical skills such as legal document preparation using word processing, legal terminology, law firm<br />

office or corporate legal department procedures, and the use of specialized legal office software. A<br />

final-semester field placement creates an opportunity to apply your learning in a real-world setting.<br />
