Retail sales of baked goods in Canada reached $2.19 billion at the end of 2021. That means the
sector needs professionals who have fundamental baking and pastry arts skills while also possessing
menu design, purchasing, planning and execution, and baking management abilities. Gain this knowhow
in Centennial’s baking and pastry arts labs, on-campus café, restaurant, and event space, or
in our immersive online environment. The hands-on experience leads to a 14-week work-integrated
learning opportunity. Important industry certifications, such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handlers,
CPR, and It’s Your Shift (a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and
violence), complement your diploma — and your holistic readiness for success.
Note: Once you successfully complete the one-year Baking Skills program, you may directly enter the third semester of this program
and earn a diploma in one additional year.
