Environmental Technology 4202<br />

OPTIONAL CO-OP<br />
Curbing the negative impact of human involvement on the environment is becoming an increasingly<br />
important industry. With this program, you can launch your career in three years. Your training<br />
includes theoretical and practical knowledge in understanding and managing complex environmental<br />
problems as you cover biology, chemistry, and civil engineering. Using technology and equipment<br />
for water and soil quality analysis, hazardous material management, AutoCAD drawing, geographic<br />
information systems mapping, lab practice in water quality testing and groundwater movement, and<br />
computer aided environmental audits are also included in your training. The program leaves you fully<br />
prepared to go further faster.<br />
Notes:<br />
1. After you complete Semester 4 courses, you can write the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Operator-in-Training (OIT) and<br />
Water Quality Analyst (WQA) exams.<br />
2. Once you complete the program, you will be able to apply to register with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering<br />
Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).<br />
Program Accreditation and Recognition<br />
• This program has met the national educational standards of Canada’s engineering technology and applied<br />
science profession, and as such, has received national program accreditation from Technology Accreditation<br />
Canada (TAC).<br />
• The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) recognizes this TAC<br />
nationally-accredited program as meeting the academic standard for certification in the Certified Engineering<br />
Technologist (C.E.T.) category as well as the OACETT technology report and language benchmark requirements.<br />

Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician 3825<br />
LENGTH INTAKE CREDENTIAL LOCATION<br />
2 years/4 semesters Fall, Winter Ontario College Diploma Progress<br />
Technology impacts every facet of society, including heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning.<br />
Through this program, become prepared to enter the field with the latest knowledge of the design,<br />
installation, and service techniques needed for today’s commercial and residential heating and<br />
air conditioning systems. Your courses include hands-on activities to teach you to maintain, size,<br />
and select equipment for air conditioning and refrigeration application. You also benefit from the<br />
incorporation of leadership capabilities that fully prepare you to successfully launch and advance<br />
your career.<br />

1. This program is taught using a combination of modalities. Courses may be delivered face-to-face, online, or in a blended/<br />
hybrid combination of both online and traditional classroom teaching.<br />
2. Apprenticeship is required after graduation for those who wish to become tradespersons.<br />
