Event planning is increasingly playing a role in numerous industries and sectors that require<br />
innovative thinking and business skills to help clients create long-lasting memories. This program<br />
equips you for various leadership positions by immersing you in industry aspects that teach you to<br />
design, plan, and produce diverse events. Through work-integrated learning opportunities, executing<br />
your own events, and networking with our industry partners, become fully prepared to be in high<br />
demand. Business topics complement event planning-specific courses. You also graduate with It’s<br />
Your Shift certification, a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and violence.<br />

A combination of core job skills for the dynamic hospitality industry and language training to<br />
successfully communicate in English with colleagues, employers, and guests, this pathway program<br />
is designed for international students. It allows you to confidently enter the School of Hospitality,<br />
Tourism and Culinary Arts, and then to transition into one of its diploma programs. In smaller classes<br />
that create opportunities for more individualized attention and carefully measured delivery, learn<br />
skills through specially-crafted experiences that prepare you for further success. You also graduate<br />
with It’s Your Shift certification, a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and<br />
violence.<br />
Note: Once you successfully complete this program, you will be invited to join your program of choice in the School of Hospitality,<br />
Tourism and Culinary Arts.<br />

The hospitality industry’s demand for qualified entry-level employees opens you to a range of<br />
front-of-house or behind-the-scenes roles, in which you will feel comfortable as a leader. Hospitality<br />
Skills has been crafted as a platform to help you develop the specific abilities today’s employers<br />
are looking for. In two semesters, gain and apply your practical skill set and theoretical knowledge,<br />
gaining the confidence to work within the hospitality sector or to pursue further education. You also<br />
graduate with industry certifications such as Safe Food Handlers, Smart Serve, First Aid, CPR, and<br />
It’s Your Shift (a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and violence).<br />
Note: Once you successfully complete the program, you will be able and encouraged to continue your studies in one of Centennial<br />
College’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts diploma programs, such as the Hotel Operations Management -<br />
Hospitality (#1807) or Restaurant Operations - Food and Beverage Management (#1808) programs..<br />
