require the expertise of architectural technicians. Your career starts with the Architectural Technician<br />
program’s interactive curriculum. It teaches you about building materials, construction methods,<br />
structural design, mechanical and electrical services, building codes, and zoning by-laws as well<br />
as leadership. The program has a strong emphasis on energy-efficient and sustainable design,<br />
construction strategies, and protecting the environment. To complete your training, you have the<br />
opportunity to use state-of-the-art computer technology and prepare designs and construction<br />

Your skills in energy-efficient and sustainable design, construction strategies, and protecting the<br />
environment will be valuable to new residential and commercial building developments as well as<br />
those needing restoration. In this program, become familiar with building materials, construction<br />
methods, structural design, mechanical and electrical services, building codes and zoning by-laws,<br />
contracts, specifications, and the business environment for providing design and construction<br />
services. You also learn to use industry-standard computer technology, and you prepare designs and<br />
construction drawings for residential, industrial, commercial, institutional, complex, and mixed-use<br />
buildings. Due to the program’s holistic approach, you graduate prepared to confidently advance your<br />
career as a leader.<br />
Note: Once you complete the program, you may apply for Ontario Association of Applied Architectural Sciences (OAAAS)<br />
membership, which can lead to Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) membership as a Licensed Technologist OAA; membership<br />
